This is not what you expect to hear. It is what you and your clients need to know.

Most practitioners approaching psychedelic bodywork operate on a common assumption: prep massage is just relaxation before the real work, and integration massage is just aftercare. Neither carries the same risks as the administration session. With all substances and especially with N,N-DMT and 5-MeO-DMT, this is wildly mistaken. Meditation, massage, cannabis, breathwork, and trance states can trigger the return of a partial or full DMT medicine-state phenomenology. Bodywork and massage are part of the stack, just as combining substances might be stacked. Screening must respect how bodywork and DMT physiology, set, and setting come together.

About this Course

A course for practitioners on DMT preparation and integration bodywork, reactivation risk, consent infrastructure, scope of practice, and collaborative care. After completing this course, DMT facilitators and adjacent talk therapists and bodyworkers will have:

  • DMT-specific frameworks for stacking bodywork into preparation and integration phases

  • Key actions to manage dynamic consent

  • A reactivation response plan

  • A scheduling and payment plan for unexpectedly extended sessions

  • Clear, ethical decision making for when to accept a client and when to refer out based on scope of practice, current training, and capacity to reduce risk

    Meet Your Instructor

    Suz, M.S., Ed.; BCTMB

I came to psychedelics through the body. Over a decade of clinical bodywork and national board certification (BCTMB) shaped how I understand expanded states. I saw how these substances were reactivating on my massage table hours, days, or even weeks after the administration session. With my embodied lens, I have sought training in psychedelic care across substances, including N,N-DMT and 5-MeO-DMT. I welcome you to this work. Let's proceed together with care.

Point of View of This Course

    Bodyload: Biopsychosocial and Spiritual

Bodyload is not merely a side effect, nor is it simply physical. It encompasses the biological, psychological, social, and transpersonal dimensions of what the body undergoes during and after DMT experiences.

Like running a marathon, bodyload can come from metabolites and tissue stress as well as from the body processing the substances themselves. Tissue patterns established during the experience, fascial holding from bracing against intensity, and autonomic nervous system disruptions can persist for days, weeks, or longer.

DMTs are surprisingly embodied and somatic experiences, even when they take us far from our physical world. This is where dis-membering and re-membering becomes central. Dis-membering refers to how these substances can fragment a person's relationship to their own body. Re-membering through bodywork is the deliberate process of helping the client reconstitute that relationship, not by forcing coherence, but by offering safe, structured, consented touch that invites them to find their way home, changed but whole.

    Respectful Collaborative Care

DMT ceremonies often operate within tighter containers than other psychedelic work. This is especially true when they are rooted in Indigenous lineages or established facilitator communities. Your bodywork session can interfere with these containers if you are not coordinating care.

Collaborative care requires asking permission before entering the territory of another practitioner or tradition. With DMTs, this means respecting the ceremony leader's protocols, understanding their restrictions around touch or physical work, and communicating openly with clients about what they have committed to in advance. Doing so, even inadvertently, can cause tremendous harm.

    Why This Course, Why Now

Very little psychedelic bodywork training exists at all, and none specific to the unique considerations and needs of the DMTs. MDMA, psilocybin, and ketamine do not carry the reactivation profile of the DMTs.

This program is focused exclusively on N,N-DMT and 5-MeO-DMT prep and integration bodywork, built on lived experience in both plant medicine facilitation and bodywork practice.

Ask yourself: Are you ready to work with reactivation? What do you need to feel ready? This course helps you map that question and find your answers.
